Re: The King Of Old Here?
So sorry to hear about your dad, CB. I have similar experiences to yours. My dad lived and worked 1200 miles away from our family, and we only saw him one month out of the year - he would save up all his leave and take the entire month of December off. But the nature of his job meant he had many hou...

Re: Chronicles of Eldwyn
Just a quick update - since RPG Maker forums are discontinuing their Member+ program (which allowed me to create a blog there), I've moved my blog to WordPress: https://eldwynblog.wordpress.com/ I've been making good progress on the game. I've just about got everything set up in the database - almos...

Re: The Next Game
I personally prefer isometric; however, I've played one or two 3D RPGs that I enjoyed (e.g., Darkstone, where you could rotate the camera around to look in other directions).

Re: Star Wars: The Force Awakens
My understanding is that Lucas had the storylines for several trilogies in mind, which were all kind of tied together into one overarching story, and passed that along to Kathleen Kennedy when he passed the baton - but Abrams and company chose to discard all that and go a separate direction. They al...

Re: Chronicles of Eldwyn
They're releasing RPG Maker MV later this month, which has a lot of exciting new features. I probably won't be using it for this game, though, since I've already invested a lot in custom graphics and scripts for Vx Ace. But I've preordered it, and may use it for another game down the road. I may tin...

Re: Chronicles of Eldwyn
@Painted Lady: thanks! @CrazyBernie: I did take a quick look at Game Maker, but it looked like more work to set it up specifically for a RPG. I just wasn't up for that. I was initially bummed about losing the isometric view, but the RPG Maker view is growing on me. I've still found some creative way...

Chronicles of Eldwyn
Hi everyone! Some of you may remember that I started working on a RPG of my own a couple of years ago, before my health deteriorated and I had to close up my shop. My business is still closed, and will remain so for the foreseeable future. I just can't take on the stress of running a business again ...

Sure! I've been thinking about playing through the series again... that would be useful!

Hm. I may have to fire it up too, just to see what you did with it.

I'll second that! Congrats to the winners, and congrats to BW! Looking forward to the games you'll make over the next 10 years!

Re: 10 Year Anniversary Celebration
That helped a bit! Thanks!
Have you thought about moving the text up alongside your logo, like you have at the top of the forum? That would reclaim a nice chunk of vertical space too...

Re: 10 Year Anniversary Celebration
Congrats on the new site! For the most part, I love the look - my only critique would be that your new logo takes up a huge amount of vertical space at the top of your home page. If I didn't have a big monitor, I'd probably have to scroll down a bit before I could really see anything useful. Oh, and...

Re: Avernum: Crystal Souls
I've been enjoying this game. I completed the third major quest last night. I found it a bit easier than Avernum 1. I love the way the Episode 1 maps were "reused" but updated for current circumstances, passage of time, etc, and there are plenty of new places to explore too. Great fun! Can...

Re: Fans of Basilisk Games: What's Next?
As a former indie developer, I understand exactly where you're coming from. I had to take periodic breaks on my bigger game projects to work on occasional smaller projects that would generate revenue. Just don't get burned out like I did.
