Re: Light Armor vs. Heavy Armor
Game developers are too in love with the old D&D system. Each skill should be, separately, advanced upon usage, training or study. Back in the paper and pencil days it would be a nightmare attempting to track that but with modern programmable computing machines it should be a breeze. Every time ...

Re: Balance and Rangers
Thinking of foraging, maybe arrows should be something that can be foraged for.
When bread is more expensive than gems I begin to lose my suspension of disbelief.
Seriously, how many pounds of gold should a loaf of bread cost?

Re: Unreadable Book
Usually you are able to read the book and simply gain no benefit. Pretty sure I hadn't read it earlier.

Re: Balance and Rangers
In pure combat terms you could be correct. What I'm looking at is the comparable logistics. The Mage/Healer is completely self contained and self supplied, and can project power at some distance. His only cost is time to recharge. In contrast, the ranger (or any ranged attack fighter) has to deal wi...

Balance and Rangers
What I'm reading so far in the comments here and other sites is that magic use trumps everything. Which isn't necessarily bad, but the other classes just can't compete or even fair well without significant magic use. Skills are a great idea but they're overwhelmed by parallel spell abilities quickly...

Re: Light Armor vs. Heavy Armor
It comes to me that making a skill distinction between "light" and "heavy" armor isn't very sensible. What makes a little more sense is to distinguish armor by its main type, chain or plate. Once you have experience in a particular armor, it should give a minimum understanding of...

Unreadable Book
My Ranger just purchased "Traps & Tribulations" but right clicking to read on the book in inventory has no effect. I feel scammed.

Re: Altzheimer Maps
That would be reasonable for new areas, but to have what is known undone is ridiculous.
I hope they are still making patches.

Altzheimer Maps
I mapped an area at Cart5 (1 original, book+2, compass), which gives a nice color coded map. I took off the compass and as I moved all the features I had known disappeared as I moved around. It didn't undo the green but all river (blue) areas and build areas erased as I moved along. Is this a known ...

Placing the torches in the scones fails to activate the door.
Or there's a hidden fourth scone?

I get this too, and I bought from GamersGate, so it's not a Steam problem.
