Re: Book II CD or DVD
It's sad that the mis-Information Age has changed people so much that they now consider "enough text to make a reasoned argument" to be "so much text it must break the keyboard." Once upon a time, that much text would barely cover the abstract for a good paper explaining somethi...

Re: Glitchy graphics?
I think you need to survey more information about the systems involved, and if possible, those of you having trouble might try switching it to windowed mode (if you can even do that with it so screwed up). I'm on a 24" iMac running 10.6.3, and it works in windowed mode fine. It's impossible to...

Re: Jade Empire
All I can add here is use a controller - I tried it on the PC and didn't care for the keyboard/mouse control. Same for me with Fable. This is the case for me with most games, even FPS games. Maybe it's working with computers all day but more often than not a controller feels more "natural"...

Re: Two more butchered franchises...
This reminds me of Ubisoft and their similar try at DRM with Silent Hunter 5 and Assassin's Creed II. It was pirated within a day...    :x  What came first: the pirate or the DRM? Of course, it was the pirate. I'm sorry: no matter how bad a game is or how awful...

Re: Two more butchered franchises...
I was looking forward to C&C 4. Me too, until I found out to play C&C 4 your computer needs to be connected to the internet at all times, even just to play the single player campaign. :? Guess I'll just be watching the cinematics on YouTube. You and me both. I'm one of the 5 people th...

Re: Who's getting Dragon Age?
I've not been displeased with the performance of the 9400M on my MBP 13". I'm sure it's mostly due to the lower resolution of 1280x800 but I can run pretty much anything I have on at least Medium, Mac or Windows games. Even Star Trek Online runs fine on Recommended settings. Now at iMac resolut...

Re: Who's getting Dragon Age?
I have the game on xBox but since Direct2Drive was running 50% off right now I bit the bullet to support Mac Games. It was a little of a shock to me how different the two versions play. I've got a iMac 2.16 Ghz Core 2 Duo 128 MB x1600 (I think not having the 256 meg card is my limiting factor) 20&qu...

Re: Who's getting Dragon Age?
May or may not be of interest to anyone but Direct2Drive is offering Dragon Age (Mac) for 50% off right now.

Re: Arcanum
One of the guys down in CIS is always going on about this game. He even has all his old notes in a binder. When I saw it pop up on GoG I had to pick it up. Haven't had a chance to play yet yet, what with the baby, moving, and a list of a couple dozen games to play a head of it. But I'll get to it so...

Re: Might & Magic LE
I beat M&M1 with a cluebook. I just can't take not having an automap. For M&M2 I didn't make a huge dent in the main quest but I did find a nice magical well in a desert that bumped stats up to 200, then I would transport to a valley with very nasty creatures. After several failed attempts ...

Re: Might & Magic LE
I'ma do this old school and start with MM1. I've tucked away a CRT monitor at work so as to complete the experience. It's mid semester so I've got a million and one faculty breathing down my back and I'm in the middle of buying a house but after that it's plenty of space and taking plenty of time o...

Re: Might & Magic LE
I purchased these but haven't had the opportunity to play them. Maybe I'll take a few weeks vacation at the end of the semester and hole up in the basement. Yea these games especially MM1 & MMII are definitely in my top 5 RPG series of all time for me. For someone new to them though you might w...
