Re: Various Noob Questions

Yah, I'm thinking cases like * berries * mushrooms * "meaty spider legs" (sure you didn't include a dangerous part of the spider?) * maybe "are you sure that's not a poisonous japanese puffer fish?" (or, rather, the Eschalon equivalent) * some bread is meant to be a little moldy,...

Re: Various Noob Questions

First off, I don't think Food should pretty much ever be unidentifiable unless it's something really exotic (e.g. pheasant?...) - it's pretty ridiculous when your character can't ID salted fish or dried meat (aka "beef jerky"!). I hold the contrary opinion that food has one of the best ju...

Orwellian is when it reports everything you do back to a central authority. It has nothing to do with Copyright law. And like it or not, this is all about copyrights. Some stuff is distributed with rules. You don't have to like the rules, but without them BW wouldn't have gotten permission to includ...

Re: Suggestion for B3: Pickpocketing [B2 Spoilers]

From Korren's point of view, Sparrow is perfectly fine - so of course he just says "go talk to her for a key." When you meet her and she goes nuts on you - if you're thinking "I don't want to violate true healer," you perfectly well have the option of running away from that comba...

Re: Lamentations of the clever sneak - aka HALP! (spoilers).

Everything that isn't nailed down or too heavy is stolen and then fenced Indeed, the Adventurer's Credo starts with "Everything that isn't nailed down is mine to sell. If I can pry up the nails, it isn't nailed down." Been that way since Ultima (before it was Ultima I). Never thought abou...

Also, I have him repair my gear to boost his cash as well. binger mentioned "gold spent on repairs does not add to the merchant's gold count" in a post a few weeks back. It was passed off at the time (albeit not by you) as "oh, well. it's a feature, not a bug", but maybe you sec...

Re: Best Weapon / Armor EVER

Fair enough, but I'm curious, because you call this an "arbitrary limit on how you play the game" - why does this particular piece of arbitrary limitation bug you more than things like "you only get 3 skill points per level" or "you can only memorize as many spells as your (...

Re: Best Weapon / Armor EVER

Or not. Your loot score is determined by gold + value of items in your inventory at the end. So really, selling the highest end weapons is ripping yourself off in the end -- by the time you get them, it's not like you need the gold for anything else.

using it messes up true mage. apparently a magic wand counts as a weapon a mage wouldn't use :)

Re: What are games for ps2 that are similar to the Sims?

Wait. Let me get this straight. You want to find a ps2 which is "similar to the sims" so you posted on the forum for a game which (a) doesn't run on the ps2 (b) is nothing like the sims and then (c) ignored the forum's separation of which topics should go where, and instead of posting this...

Basilisk Games isn't Microsoft, he doesn't have a battalion of lawyers on retainer or anything. So, while it might not make sense to you (or him, or me), he was just answering your question as well as he could to his layman's understanding of the law. And while it sounds really complicated when phra...

Re: I really don't like the ending [massive spoilers]

oddly, I think it's even fixable. When I get the Crux of Fire and bring it to Korren, he could say "gimme that, and I'll teleport to your location when you get to the Crux of Ages" and then you can either (a) do it, or (b) say, "uh, I don't trust you, hows about I bring it with me?&q...
