Re: NEWS ITEM: October 13, 2008 - New Monster Profile Posted

Not to be a grammar/spelling nazi, but shouldn't that be " lest it will regenerate its health ??? I second the idea that pulling out the flames gives it a chance to run off in fear, or at least back up a bit before re-engaging. Well maybe if they actually take fire damage that is...

Re: * BOOK II COMBAT OPTIONS *

Then there's the shield, and -possibly- dual-handling. Now I'm ready to believe that one could quaff a potion in ANY situation, as long as you have free hand! Not that you'd have to unequip your shield everytime (it's already annoying enough when you need to use a torch goddamnit) but its defensive...

Re: NEWS ITEM: October 6, 2008 - First Monster Profile Posted

There should be a Beast Lore skill that works similar to Cartography... the more skill points you put in it, and the more you fight a creature, the more detailed descriptions you can scribe in your "Monstrous Compendium." Eventually you get bonuses To Hit/To Crit based upon your knowledge ...

Re: Book II Video Resolution

On some widescreen monitors I've seen it as an option on the internal monitor menus... in case you haven't checked that already.

Re: * BOOK II COMBAT OPTIONS *

I don't disagree with the Parry/Finesse/Power option, I think it would be a great addition to the combat strategy.... I just wonder if it should be completely static or not. I see most people going with Finesse due to the hit chance being more attractive than the less of a chance to hit. I also thin...

Re: Major skill and minor skill

I also would prefer class based skill favoring, if anything. Personally I'm usually hard pressed to consider any combat skill a "major" one. I like to hide in the darkness and relieve people of their belongings without them being the wiser. Er, I mean in game, of course. I spend ...

Re: Beta Testing

Well I wouldn't have an issue paying for the beta since I know the game is gonna rock and it'd be cool to have a part in that. How about a free upgrade to some Special Edition? Or maybe those who successfully complete the Book II beta phase get a free spot in Book III beta?? 8) Most of the...

Re: Regeneration of Monsters

There's always the option of having creatures of a lower level to run away when there's say, a 5-10 level difference. I'd say a max 20% respawn amount would be reasonable (20% of the original population in a given area). But lets not opt for anything that would increase the development time by a lar...

Actually, how about a contest with he/she who finds the most bugs getting a character in the game named after him/her??? ^_^

Re: Beta Testing

Well if there's still going to be a cash reward for beta testing, I'll be able to put it towards buying my friends a copy so they can see my name in the credits... assuming I get selected, of course...

Re: Female vs male character attributes and skills

Or better yet... make a gender free race that can look like either male or female with no stat bonuses. Call it the "Can't Please Everyone" race... basically a Golem with a brain. Personally, I'll take whatever stat bonuses I can. +1 Dexterity will suit my roguish character tastes... ^_^

It's not a big deal at all, I just wanted to know if anyone else was having the same problem, or if I was doing something wrong. And the developers should be aware if there's an issue on particular hardware/software combinations so that it can be looked at/possibly corrected. Just trying to make sur...

DirectX performance.... sucks?

Anyone else have performance issues running in DirectX mode?? I get a performance rating of 22 in DX mode vs about a 4/5 in OpenGL mode... which is hilarious considering I have an ATI/AMD videocard.... specs as follows: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ ASUS M2R32-MVP 580X Crossfire Motherboard 2GB OCZ DDR2 66...
