Re: Mental note for when starting a spoiler thread
I like the spoiler boxes on Caravel's forums - have to click the word 'spoiler' to open the spoiler, so they serve the double purpose of "the next thing is really long, or a really big image, so only click it if you want to see it..." This forum also needs a major upgrade to how it lets pe...

Re: Spoiler Alert: Burn, Kuudad, BURN!
Silverkitty, if you don't use those XPs, you never go past level one. In my post, I compared two tallies for the minimal XP route in Book I based on whether one insisted on remaining level 1, or one allowed the advance to level 2 granted by using the 4 keys at the very very end. So, I understand ho...

Re: Spoiler Alert: Burn, Kuudad, BURN!
Howdeh, I've rolled an eeeeeeeevil little rogue named Garrett. Anywho, I've gathered all the barrels of gunpowder available and I'm currently storing them in the empty store across from the overpriced armory near the Port Kuudad entrance. I'm trying to figure out how to get at the goodies in that s...

Re: How to identify items?
But if you could make your own 'loot' sacks, on-demand, it would basically solve the "needing storage" issue. (I'm thinking the "L" key could be the 'hotkey' for it! :) ) There's no need to clutter the UI with even more commands/options. Just replace the "drop item" co...

Re: Help, I am starving to death
I am too weak to make past the wolves to save the child with the elixer so I can't make it to that town really? if you stay on the road through the forest, a maximum of two wolves will attack you -- usually just one if you stay towards the north side of the road. If you just walk past the wolf inst...

Re: Character level titles
(*) the show IS historically significant as a first for having TV's first interracial kiss You mean interspecies, of course, right? ... that was the 60's, I guess. I guess maybe people were different, back then? No, I mean the first interracial kiss. When Kirk kissed Uhura in The Gamesters of Trisk...

Re: Character level titles
I wonder: Did the show really last for five seasons? Does anyone know? Is there a good reason the show stated this from the beginning, that it would be on for just 5 years? Well, you could look up the show on imdb.com, but I know this one off the top of my head: It was canceled after two seasons. P...

Re: Finished the game
Or you could play an unrelated character who finds a mad man wandering around the woods naked with a gem muttering something about "the crossroads or a kind of mangy dog" and you take this poor person in and get taken into the quest. just sayin'.

Re: How "Old School" is "Old School"?
Well, whether you believe it or not, a) those text games weren't programmable by 14 year olds when they were invented - the background knowledge wasn't codified into beginner's programming books yet. Infocom in particular was pretty cutting edge with its parser. Yah, the two-word parsers like Advent...

There are titles by initial skill selection (list here viewtopic.php?f=12&t=4083&start=0 ) but they do not change as you level up.

Re: Share your Level 15+ character with me!
Oh, you probably already know mages are overpowered and find all content trivial, but I sent my L15 Mage with a major in elemental and a minor in divine, of the light armor (as opposed to no armor) wearing sort. She's from my first play, so not only naturally developed, but also not min-maxed. I pul...
