regnak90:

OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI R300
on my radeon card works fine thank you.

I wouldn't surprise me that even nouveau would more or less work on some nvidia cards. It is not 2006 anymore....

Re: Doesn't run on Ubuntu Jaunty 64b bit

obiwan, thanks, I did already try that, but ran into some awkward problems. It appears that Mandriva throttle support after a specified time, and the official repositories seem to be capped at that point, so glibc2.6 seems to be the latest available "officially". officially for your versi...

Re: Cartography - maps get *erased* if skill is lowered

Although it may be described in the manual, to call it "correct" behavior goes a bit far.

To me, its one of the most annoying aspects of the game (read that as a compliment :P). But it has been discussed many times before, so I guess we're stuck with it.

Re: Doesn't run on Ubuntu Jaunty 64b bit

Elwro: for pasuspender apprently you have to use -- after ld-linux.so, read the man page.

But I am not so sure anymore that your sound problem is with pulse. To be sure, you could just remove it from your system for a while.

Re: Doesn't run on Ubuntu Jaunty 64b bit

The thing is, we are loading eschalon through a different loader (the ld-linux). To load padsp through the normal loader and eschalon through the newer loader, well, I am not sure how to type that myself. OK...now you made me think..maybe: padsp /home/danny/glibc/lib/ld-linux.so.2 --library-path /ho...

Re: Doesn't run on Ubuntu Jaunty 64b bit

pulse can be a nuisance. killing does not always work. Even although i do believe it brings us a better sound system in the end, the incomplete support of many apps makes it troublesome. And it works differently on different distro's. Killing probably wont work because it respawns (there is a config...

Re: Doesn't run on Ubuntu Jaunty 64b bit

Tyranthraxus, the work around I posted should work on your system as well. Just download a cooker glibc from the mirrors.

Elwro: running the pa wrapper is difficult. I can look into it but am doubtful it can work without modifying how that binary works. Why not just suspend pulseaudio for the moment?

Re: Equipping trousers leads to segfault

Actually, my trousers are bronze. And I think I can still hear the heavy armor sound playing before it segfaults.

without a non-stripped binary eschalon it is difficult to debug further:(

It could be interaction with the opengl driver. I am on the OS ati driver. Wolverine?

gliding, not walking?

Not sure it was happening when I played the first time, but now all my characters seem to be "gliding" across the screen, not walking (ie, the legs do not move, and the character is not correctly facing the walking direction).

Anybody else seeing this?

Re: Doesn't run on Ubuntu Jaunty 64b bit

On x86_64 the trick Bryce posted probably works fine, as most other 64 bit software will still use the normal version of libc. On 32 bits I do not advice replacing glibc, but brave souls may try it. If not, here is the work around: download the deb rpm or whatever of glibc 2.11. Extract it in your h...

Re: Doesn't run on Ubuntu Jaunty 64b bit

libc6-dev is a development package. As long as you do not compile things, it is probably no problem to remove it. However, virtually everything uses libc and installing the lucid binary on karmic may really break things. glibc /is/ backwards compatible. So if BW would have used an old version of gli...

Re: Werwolf quest and minor UI suggestions (spoiler)

Right. I posted the same issue as well in the main eb2 forum. The thing is even although you tell Harpen you believe him, or that you want to stay out of it (just to end the dialogue friendly) you may just want to do that do hide that box of gunpowder right next to his tail. And then fire it. If the...
