Re: The Percentages In The Dialogue Can't Possibly Be Right
Modifying the distribution of the chance from uniform to gaussian would make it seem more fair. But it may quite drastically change the feel of the combat.

Re: Eschalon: Book II version 1.04a BETA
I never visited lower ironpool dam with my char, but even with the 1.04a beta, I cannot go to westwillow (and the savegame still has a capital W in there). I will try with a completely new char to confirm this has not been fixed.

Re: Eschalon: Book II version 1.04a BETA
Well, another thing is that the linux version still requires glibc 2.11  I can understand it is tedious to install another system/chroot just for the compile though. And my workaround still works. And apart from the dice not working on character creation, the mouse-over on several items produc...

Hmm, sneaky. I think maybe the thief hide-out door should not open if darus is still alive to prevent this inconsistency.

Thanks...downloading (which goes incredibly slow, though me currently being in China may have something to do with that. I even needed an ssh tunnel to decently use the form today...).BasiliskWrangler wrote:Linux version posted. See top post. May not get to the Mac version until Sunday- sorry!

Re: Eschalon: Book II version 1.04a BETA
(Windows version only for now.) [1.04a BETA - 06/25/10] : Windows Download Grrrr!!! +1 Ironic some of the Linux specific bugs (which are not trivial) are fixed in the windows beta. I hope we get linux/mac beta as well this time to prevent brown-paper-bag bugs like in 1.03 that required platf...

Ah, Jedi_Learner, you must be mistaken.
Obviously, Sa(va)nt Gilhelm Jr. was not able to recover all his father's notes on this subject!
I have seen no raise dead scrolls Mistfell.

Both spellings are accepted. In fact, personally I would prefer illusionary.

Re: Doesn't run on Ubuntu Jaunty 64b bit
Oh, it'd probably work fine, and the directions are clear - I just hate loading non-native glibcs on my system (even if they're from trusted sources). In the end it's probably just me being overly pig-headed about it. :) Since the Windows version works great for me using Cedega, I'm content to just...

Re: Doesn't run on Ubuntu Jaunty 64b bit
Two questions! 2) BW - great news about 1.04 (and 1.05); looking forward to it! Is there a chance of getting a Linux recompile of 1.03 at some time before that release, since that sounds a number of weeks off still? Or shall we just be patient? :) So, the trick with installing a separate copy of gl...

Re: Not installing
Or, you use a workaround (at least until 1.04 is released) as I posted in this thread: http://basiliskgames.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=3531 (basically it is downloading a newer glibc from any source you want, install it in a local dir, and forcing the game to use that library instead of the...

Even although book II has a 1024x786 resolution, there are few reasons that would need to prevent the game to run on almost any other resolutions. Scalers were invented long ago, and even if BW would not want to add them to eschalon, modern graphics drivers can easily do things like this. In fact, I...
