Re: Should I Start Again?

Book 3 requires higher repair skill to quickly fix named weapons and better armors, but the good news is they also take longer to wear out unless you use weapon feat too often.

Re: Trapped in Atrox Deep, and with no earlier savegames

There was a discussion about Atrox Deep and how to avoid getting trapped in there. BW and I had completely different methods for avoiding it with his being the permanent one of exploding a keg of powder to blow the gate away. But everyone assumed that players would have a save from before they got t...

Re: How many times have you finished Book III?

Beta testing gave me lots of incentive to finish the game with different builds just to see BW's reaction. From a character with no armor to one with such a high armor rating the monster could barely hit him, it was fun to see how the game got adjusted to compensate for them.

Re: Your favourite Eschalon game?

Book 2 was the most overall fun. Book 3 had better game mechanics, but its shortness made it hard to use the skills properly since once you got them at a really useful level then the game ended. Out of all the games it felt like there should be more to see and kill. Book 1 was nice, but being able t...

Re: Fans of Basilisk Games: What's Next?

Congratulations on finding a way to survive lower sales. We've got a chance to play more of your games instead of reading messages that the next game will come out on an even later date like some companies.

Re: ESCHALON TRILOGY - Q&A (SPOILERS)

The world of Eschalon is literally filled with side stories, lore, and history that never made it into the games. If Eschalon was actually a trilogy of real books, then I could address some of this somewhere in the text, but as a video game I just can't put it all in there. I am just one person- it...

Re: ESCHALON TRILOGY - Q&A (SPOILERS)

Baizel was just going to wait out the rebuilding period while nature reclaimed the humanized portion of the world. This was a cyclical part of nature vs humans and had happened before where some cataclysm had restored the balance by reducing humans.

Re: Bronze Gloves - Can't Find

Random loot or buy it from a merchant in the early part of the game with Port K being the last place that might get it. The higher level you get, the less likely it will be in random loot in a container or dropped.

Re: Book III Mod: The Mystery of Rockhammer Mine

The golem wouldn't advance past the gate so you could stand back and attack at distance. Especially if you have the strength to move some powder kegs to the right spots and the patience to wait for him to be near them.

Re: Opinions on Book III (SPOILERS)

Or being caught camping in the middle of a fierce thunderstorm in the black of night and scrambling to defend myself when I can't see, can't light a torch, and can't shoot my bow straight. Mine was in Book II when I finally got the torch to light only to see slimes coming at my level 3 character. T...

Re: Where did your character purchase the cabin?

I always figured the cabin was abandoned since it was so far outside of town. Or maybe you killed the previous owner and no one objected to the ownership change.

Re: Foraging Info (SPOILERS)

Higher repair levels are needed for the heavy armor materials and upper end of light armor materials. But it still doesn't take that much, maybe 3 or 4 levels.

Re: Foraging Info (SPOILERS)

BW added the ingredients for Healing Elixir to containers in the first few zones so getting them from foraging isn''t that big of a problem. Also by Moonrise you can find a few more key ingredients to deal with disease. This gives you time to find enough money to train. You can train for 8 levels, u...
