Re: Book 1 & Book 2 50% Off at Gamersgate
Now I´ve bought it and have already started playing....I like Book 1 so far. Actually the only reason for me not to buy Book 1 before Book 2 was the fact that I thought it was only in 640*480 but it is not.

Re: Just for fun
I love the dice system.
I remember my first RPG on the computer. It was Bard´s tale for Commodore 64. I re-rolled for hours until my party was ready for adventure. Just the same with Might and Magic III for Amiga. I just love this old style thing.

Re: Which Book II ad works best?
BTW, why not mention "old school" in the ad? Or maybe "classic"? Most of us bought it or gave the demo a chance based on that premise. And it's definitely a plus point for the type of players you look for. As I see it, the Eschalons are niche games, so target them (us). We're qu...

Re: What we like and don't in an RPG
I like * An open and explorable world. With no invisible barriers. It should be sparsely littered with hidden chests and items so that when finding something you feel you´ve been rewarded for having walked so long past civilization and nearest roads. Add to that some hidden caves or dungeons not mar...

Re: My Impressions of Book II and suggestions for Book III
Very sound points and suggestions for future games. I agree on most of them. A few words of my own is in place... 1) Never let the game be any easier. There is nothing as bad as feeling no challenge at all (just take a look at the newly released Arcania: Gothic 4). I love it when the beginning is st...

Which did you enjoy best Eschalon I or II ?
I have only played Eschalon Book II but are thinking of buying book 1 as well. What do you think of them when comparing them to eachother ? Take away all improvements to the GUI and game engine. What about the story and adventure, which did you enjoy the most and why ?

Re: Temple of Elemental Evil
I strongly recommend you to get it for that price. ToEE is very truthful to Ad&D 3.5 rules and a good story with lots of tactical battles.Evnissyen wrote: It's $6 now, if I wait too long I expect it'll revert to $10 . . . better to get it now, I suppose..

When might book III be released ?
Ok, we know there will be a book III. I just finished book II this morning and are now quite anxious to know which year we will expect book III or the next announcement about it.
Can we have a roughly estimate on when it earliest will be released ? Like in autumn 2011 ?

My first run, first character after exactly 2 weeks of play. I had no intention to break any score records, hence my quite low score.

I agree on most of the interface issues. Things that could be used as input for Book 3.

Re: The Best 10 RPGs of all time!
This is extremely hard but here it goes in no particular order (would take me hours!). The Faery Tale Adventure (Amiga) Legend of Faerghail (Amiga) Bards Tale 1 (c-64) Champions of Krynn (Amiga) Eye of the Beholder (Amiga) Oblivion (Pc) Gothic 2 and 3 (Pc) Baldurs Gate (Pc) Might and Magic III (Amig...
