Re: Patrician III: Rise of the Hanse
Was this the one where you're a landowner in a town and need to make an impression, so the computer keeps requesting that you throw a party to make yourself popular, even though you haven't much money, so you announce a party but you forget to order beer and you forget all about the party... and the...

Are there actually any recipes that are not listed in the found manuals but are sort of 'secret' recipes?

Yeah, a pretty meaningless number. Better to quicktravel to Blackwater and take a dip in the well.

Re: Obama's comittment to global nuclear disarmament
Okay, first, most of the latter misunderstandings and falsehoods I've already addressed in previous posts either in this thread or the Obama vs. McCain thread... on taxes, energy, taxes, jobs, taxes. No need to revisit them. You keep repeating the "lack of substance" nonsense. This is what...

Re: Obama's comittment to global nuclear disarmament
From McCain's website: "I do not want to keep our troops in Iraq a minute longer than necessary to secure our interests there. Our goal is an Iraq that can stand on its own as a democratic ally and a responsible force for peace in its neighborhood. Our goal is an Iraq that no longer needs Ameri...

Re: Still Life, and games like it
Sorry for the double post, but I was afraid of this.... Now that the spambot's been vanquished, along with its posts, it looks like I've just called Mongolian a spambot. Let's be clear: I'm under no delusions, nor illusions, that Mongolian is a spambot. By the way, Mongolian: You can download the St...

Re: Consumable Items
I'm pretty used to food being useless in games, so... I expected them to do not much but heal me a little. I've always found it strange that food can heal wounds.... So... as it's useless in other games, yes: Just as useless here. But in other games at least if there's food it tends to do more than ...

Does that mean you own 1/3 of each platform?
Do you meld them together or just divide up the duties?
Hmm....
I wonder how a Frankenstein's Computer like that might look....

Re: hive drones... help please.
Yeah, npc's don't seem to like you pitching a tent in their home or shop... but in Lilith's back room you can, and it's probably pretty safe although I haven't tried it so I can't attest (safe, that is, as opposed to sleeping in abandoned homes, where you can still wake up with hostile goblins surro...

Re: character interaction changes to the world
I think having too many forms of travel might actually prove too elaborate for the game's own good.... Maybe this is what the original beta testers were complaining about? I don't know. I like the idea of my own character being able to use boats... but to have modes of travel separated depending on ...

Re: Magic usage suggestions for Book II
(...ignore spambot...ignore spambot...ignore spambot...) Anyhow... I might've said this before... in fact I'm pretty sure I have... but I agree about the spells and I think Book I has been too heavy on combat and too light on spells. I tried playing a magick user in the beginning and quickly decided...

Re: hive drones... help please.
Dobson: This sounds most odd, since I had little trouble with the drones... although the Jungle Fever should explain some of your trouble. (Like Unclever Title, I led them back to Lilith's house and bottled them up in the doorway so only one at a time could attack me and they couldn't get inside.) W...

What kind of major edit is this? Have you changed much in it or added anything?
Unfortunately I've been on vacation from Eschalon and I'm not anywhere near finishing it, yet, so I'd be making a poor candidate.

Re: Acid Grubbs
From a distance, I'd guess? I don't know, I just hit them and hope they don't inflict me when they die. At 40% resistance their toxins don't generally affect me. I haven't tried using bows, but I think I remember someone on here saying that bows are quite effective in Eschalon. (Unfortunately I have...

Re: If you achieve Destroyer, post here [spoilers]
Maybe a belated post, but Rocketman: Why only 1 point in Divination if you're a magick user? Since the Divination scrolls offer so much more than just Heal (and a higher level Divination, at that, increases the effectiveness of heal per mana used).... Hmm....
