help shadowmirk no chests

When i enter Shadowmirk and stannd where the transport is or search the entire floor there are no chests to activate the portal also the eye flew out the back door

I MANAGED TO KILL THE EYEBALL and explore the rest of the first level. after meeting with the apprentice wizard there I went through the dialogs and now he doesn't speak to me.

Now I have to find Erubor and can't get beyond the first level in the castle?

Also I've already killed all the mercenaries east of blackwater but didn't find any Divine Ore to fulfill the quest from Gunther the Blacksmith.
Any solutions for the above?

Have you been into the secret hideout or did you just kill the guys outside?
