I'm getting reports of glitchy graphics on 10.6.3.

Anyone seen this?

Downloaded the demo from greenhouse a few days ago; just now installed & tried to start. I get the following:

Running 10.6.3 on a macbook pro. Will logout & try again with the other video card.

EDIT: about the same with the "higher performance" video card:

This is version 1.042c from Greenhouse? What about the version 1.05 demo from us?

I can't verify the version, but it's identical to the one I just now downloaded from greenhouse.

I downloaded another copy from http://www.download.com/Eschalon-Book-I ... 82507.html, as linked from your download page. No significant difference, just different cruft dredged up from my video memory.

I have the same issue since upgrading to snow leopard.
It did not do this in leopard.

BTW, mine is the latest full version, provided to me by your support email recently. I was a windows purchaser who requested a version to use on my macbook.

regards,
Dave

Well, it appears to be official: MacOS 10.6.3 breaks the current build of Eschalon: Book I (1.05).

Obviously, a new build will need to be made. The first goal will be to get all our online versions updated (including vendors like Mac Games Store) so that people who buy the game now can play it. After that we'll have to figure out an upgrade option for current Mac owners.

Odd, because 1.05 works fine for me on my iMac running 10.6.3. I run Eschalon in Windowed mode, which may make the difference. On my dual monitor system, it crashes if I don't.

I think you need to survey more information about the systems involved, and if possible, those of you having trouble might try switching it to windowed mode (if you can even do that with it so screwed up). I'm on a 24" iMac running 10.6.3, and it works in windowed mode fine.

It's impossible to switch to windowed mode in the current situation. I'll try and test it on some machines at work next week.

I can verify the issue on these spex

10.6.3
MBP 2.26
9400M
4GB RAM

If you can locate the .cfg file in the saved games folder, you can manually change windowed/full-screen modes.

I've been running version 1.04 on my Mac with 10.6.3 for ages - and no problems. I just downloaded the 1.05 demo and tried it. The graphics on the first screen were funky. I never even got to open the actual game.

Both 1.04 and 1.05 are running fine here - playing windowed mode - on a Mac Pro under 10.6.3 (ATI 1900 XT graphics card) with 30" monitor
