Hey,

I'd very much like to check out the demo of this game to see if I'd want to purchase it, but right now I am unable to start it. I got my version of the demo from greenhouse games. Here's some output.

dual4cer eschalon_book_1 # ./Eschalon_Book_I
./Eschalon_Book_I: error while loading shared libraries: libcurl.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
dual4cer eschalon_book_1 # equery files curl | grep libcurl
/usr/lib64/libcurl.a
/usr/lib64/libcurl.la
/usr/lib64/libcurl.so
/usr/lib64/libcurl.so.4
/usr/lib64/libcurl.so.4.0.1
/usr/lib64/pkgconfig/libcurl.pc
/usr/share/aclocal/libcurl.m4
/usr/share/man/man3/libcurl-easy.3.bz2
/usr/share/man/man3/libcurl-errors.3.bz2
/usr/share/man/man3/libcurl-multi.3.bz2
/usr/share/man/man3/libcurl-share.3.bz2
/usr/share/man/man3/libcurl-tutorial.3.bz2
/usr/share/man/man3/libcurl.3.bz2
dual4cer eschalon_book_1 # cd /usr/lib
dual4cer lib # ls | grep libcurl
libcurl.a
libcurl.la
libcurl.so
libcurl.so.4
libcurl.so.4.0.1

Any idea why the game doesn't find my libcurl installation?

Just saw another thread about a different problem where the solution was installing the 32-bit libstdc++, so I guess I need a 32-bit libcurl...?

EDIT: none of the emul-linux library packages seem to include libcurl, so I guess I'll just have to write off trying out the game. stuff sucks. (because I sure as hell don't feel like unpacking some rpm from some other distro)

did u ever bother to try the demo avalable on basiliskgames site? the version on basilisk site does not use libcurl, at least not the full version anyways.

That worked. In conclusion, I like the game, but not enough.
