repossession quest stuck

hey, before I got quest from blacksmith keebo, I had to killed the girl in the house after I pulled the lever that opens the door, and couple of days later; with the quest, I can't find the sword, maybe I took from chest and sold I can't remember, so is there a way to abandon the quest or else? thanks..

The sword isn't in a chest. It's hanging on a wall in the mayor's house, which is just outside of town--the one with the well in the backyard. You have some choices as to how you get it.
