I was reading an old post regarding the 2007 Independent Game Festival - did you or can you resubmit your game for the 2008 competion?

We might have been able to, but it's a tough competition. While I personally feel Eschalon is good enough to win, it's probably a bit too much of a "niche genre game" to compete well against 180 other mainstream casual games. Also, you'll notice many winning IGF games have a gimmick, such as physics-based gameplay or an uncommon graphic style. There is nothing really gimmicky to Eschalon, and ironically quality gameplay alone doesn't always stand out at a game festival.
The 2007 IGF was good to us and we got a lot industry feedback, so it did what we wanted it to do.
