Minecraft server?
Does anyone of you have a Minecraft server or is able to make one? I would love to play with some fellow patrons.

Re: Minecraft server?
I could look into setting up a server here in the studio if enough people are interested. I've never set up a public server- only a local server on our LAN.
I don't know if we have enough Minecraft addicts here, though.

Re: Minecraft server?
I can't find any words to describe how awesome that is. Thank you!
EDIT: It's only 19.95€ (though I don't know how much that is in dollars). Maybe we can lure people to buy it and then teach them how to play.

Re: Minecraft server?
I'm a recent addict...just purchased 2 weeks ago, logged over 20 hours in my free time so far.
Not even bothering playing local, just playing online with some friends from work on one server, and some other gaming friends on another (though they are WAY more advanced than my skills.
I wouldn't mind having another server to kick around on

Re: Minecraft server?
While I haven't played since we wiped my computer, I would certainly be interested in playing on a server with members of this community.
If a server was started for this community, I would hop on.

Re: Minecraft server?
How many people need to say "yes" before we have enough to make the server fun? I've never played online.

Re: Minecraft server?
Some people play online with just a single friend. More people means more efficiency but there's no real requirement.
Re: Minecraft server?
Even if only a single person is on at a time, it's always fun to look around and see what other people have built. That, and building community projects with people, don't require more than 1 person on at a time.
I do think we should at least wait until maybe 8-10 people have said they would play on it.

"Live, thread! Live!"
Already I'm fainting, even though it's been only a day since the last post.

Re: Minecraft server?
I would probably continue playing on the server I do now, its an amazing one, but I'd definitely stop by from time to time if you make one.

Re: Minecraft server?
If we fail to gather 8 Minecraft addicts, will 5 (or 6) be enough?
You can see that I'm a bit afraid.

Re: Minecraft server?
Well, to boost your moral, a good friend recently told me about some super cheap server hosting. He says that xrayhost has 9 slot bukkit servers for $2.99 a month. If we can't get 8 people, that's fairly cheap, and can hold the 5-6 of us, even if we were all on at once. Just letting you guys know.

Re: Minecraft server?
But is it reliable?
A question about servers: do you need to have the same version of Minecraft as the server to play on it?
