@BasiliskWrangler -- THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING LINUX! The game is incredible so far, and I can't wait to get my grubby paws on my DVD when you ship them out next week.
For anyone who might be hesitating about buying the game, I can confirm that it works very smoothly with the following configuration:
Linux version 1.03B of the game
KT600 Via motherboard
AMD AthlonXP 2600+ (1.92Mhz)
1Gig RAM (way more than needed)
nVidia GeForce5500FX cards (very old G4 level card.. pre-2005)
nvidia-drivers-173.14.22
Gentoo Linux (kernel 2.6.31+ and 2.6.32+)
ancient (pre-2000) SB-Live soundcard (ALSA)
So although Basilisk can only officially support Ubuntu as a one-man shop, don't be afraid to take the plunge! The game itself is fantastic so far, and runs GREAT under the default OpenGL acceleration.
If anyone is having trouble, or questions about a Gentoo configuration or driver version, post here. I'll do what I can to help & compare to my system(s) config.
1.03b working great on Gentoo 2.6.31 + nVidia

Very close to my hardware specs, but stuffed by the glibc dependency issue.
Once that`s resolved, I expect similar great results, and I can then put Windoze back in its box.

I too would like to thank BasiliskWrangler for this great game running under Linux. I am running Arch Linux x86_64 with a Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P motherboard, Phenom II X4 955 at 3.2 Ghz, 6gig Patriot DDR3 1333 ram, an nVidia GTX285 w/1 gig onboard, nVidia driver 195.26.15, glibc 2.12.2 and kernel 2.6.33.4 and it's working better there than under Win7 x64, oh and I'm running the 1.03b version too.
