In the interest of reporting everything, I've had two "hard crashes" of the game app today. In one case I had just read a scroll to learn a new spell, in the other... I think I had just sold something in the caravan camp.

There seems to be nothing distinctive linking the two 'hard crash' scenarios (i.e. nothing obviously "reproducible"...), and it's quite possible that it's my own laptop's system that's the problem and not the Book III app (FTR, I'm running Mac OS 10.6.8 ).

As a precaution, I've restarted my system, just to be safe...

I thought the Covenant's Well in Book II should have allowed Portal Spell use as well, so I'm not totally adverse to the idea that some underground locales should allow Portal Spell use. (It should maybe also be allowable in Seawarden's Guild, Lower Level in Book III too...)

But, allowing Portal's use in underground locales should probably be used sparingly...

I'm going to go so far as to say Portal should work on all maps in Book III, except the battlefront. A better fast travel locations to total maps ratio means the spell is far less useful than it was in Books I and II. The only thing I think is possibly an actual bug, though, is being unable to use Portal in Rockhammer.

It would appear not being able to use the Portal spell at Rockhammer is a mistake. The Rockhammer Mine is the only location underground that allows use of the Portal spell. Thoughts?
I always assumed that any area with a portal platform meant you couldn't use teleport in that area. Rockhammer has that useless one so maybe that is somehow preventing the portal spell from being cast?

Here is a bug:

When playing the final battle, and the game asks you which side to choose (Erubor/Malkur), you can actually press the Esc key on that interface. (I did, since I had passed a single panel of the cutscene dialogue too fast.) The result is that you're placed in the Malkur army, but the game never ends, after you destroy the enemy's Dimensional Eye.

Also, I'm not sure if this is a bug, but casting Mass Boil in the final battle will also damage your own troops, hence antagonizing them (or those that still live :twisted: ). The result was that I had to kill both Dimensional Eyes in the end, scouring the field of all life but my so-called "healer", but the game never ended anyway.

(Note: I'm not sure whether this "Escape" sequence caused the bug, or the fact that I antagonized my own boss Dimensional Eye.)

Heh, yeah - on my first playthrough on the ending, I casted an ill-advised Supernova which had the same effect. My erstwhile allies did, at least, seem to prefer attacking our enemies to attacking me, but it made for some amusing running-around inbetween waves.

I wouldn't actually consider that a bug, actually - the spell text doesn't mention only targetting friendly entities, and IMO it makes more thematic sense that the spell wouldn't know a friend from a foe.

OK, no really obvious "bugs" here, though to my mind the Ruined Castle Dungeon, and possibly Omentor and the Lair of the Emayu Witch, should probably have camping spawns enabled.

In terms of the aboveground maps that should have 'camping spawns' but don't, I'd nominate Weeping Mountain (which should have camping spawns (Bog Roaches, IMO), and Western Astral Range (Mist Wolves, maybe?...).

That may be so, but I always think about this from a "gameplay enjoyment" standpoint: Does disallowing Portal in Rockhammer (basically the "central" map in the whole game!!) for a couple of portal platforms that don't even work in-game(!) increase, or decrease, the overall enjoyment of the game? (I.E. Is the game better this way?...)

In this particular case, I'd definitely vote for "decrease" (or "not better/worse"...), so I think Portal spell use should be allowed on the Rockhammer map...

My game program crashes during the "Edgar" quest. When I return the Bittersting bow to him and he turns to attack mode, I tried killing him with the "Turn Undead" spell. The game always crashes before I can kill him. Anyone else experience this?

Never seen that, but also never tried using Turn Undead against him. Can you beat him without?
