Two Quest Questions (Possible Spoilers)

Post by ysmaykerrich »

So I am a bit stuck in my game right now and have a few questions!

Question 1:
[+] SPOILER
I am trying to complete the Baptism in Fire quest and need the Sigil of Fire ring to do it. Where would I find this?
Question 2:
[+] SPOILER
Is the only way to get to the other side of the Elderoak Forest through the underground lair near the abandon witch's house? Or is there another way? I have lots of quests to complete that seem to all take place on the other side of the river.

You can find one in the witch's home after solving her puzzle. Occasionally you can find them in shops also. Alternatively you can find a way out back to the graveyard behind the church in moonrise...

There are, I believe, 2 pathes to get across the river. The Long route, and the underground lair. The long route, you can cut through the dwarven mine, or go south and go all the way around the mountains, past the coast and past Macross point, then from there head west.

Thank you for your response!
In regards to the witch's puzzle, however, I have one more question:
[+] SPOILER
By puzzle do you mean entering the word "spirits" into the journal? Or do you mean the one having to do with the chest that has the number 5 written above it? (I haven't looked into that one yet.)

And don't forget:
[+] SPOILER
Regardless of whether you solve the chest puzzle on your own or not (I didn't), bring a powderkeg to get into the vase once you're through.

There are 4 places to get a Sigil of Fire:
[+] SPOILER
Seawarden's Guild - body near the gate
Baasilt Dunes in giant clam shell
Elderoak Forest - Witch's House - red ceramic vessel after solving the chest puzzle
Moonrise - cabinet in locked room south of blacksmith

Are you kidding? I never knew that, and I passed it up so many times in shops because I figured Ice Lance was just as good or better!
Well, I now know I wasted like 10 powder kegs. It's okay though, I still had spares in my storage room in Rockhammer at the end of the game.

Mr Peepers you need...
[+] SPOILER
an item, or number of items that weigh a total of 5 pounds. A water skin with two drinks from it works perfect.

Addendum,
[+] SPOILER
if you take 2 powder kegs and head NE in ROckhammer, then enter the next map area, there was/is a dead man that wants you to tell the Mayor of Rockhammer that the goblins are coming... If you make your way thru the black mountain/rock you can blast thru the end with two kegs and then it is up one north to Macross. This has helped me so now I can get from the boglands to Macross and still keep my journeyman award without walking for Aeons!!
I will stay an initiate, please, let the officers, lieutenants, etc. do the brain work, I will be the grunt! GRRRR-Unt!
