Hi there,

I "cleaned up" the lighthouse and lit the flames,
was that good for anything *) ?
was there a quest to do so?
or was this just the olympic fire starting?

*) I hoped, I could use the boat then, when it might be saver to travel on sea

best regards

No, NinjaGremlin, apparently there was an intention to make some sort of quest out of this (the boat would take you to another island etc...) but it didn't get into the original release.

There may be a patch at some point to include this, but certainly not 'till Book II is done, and maybe not at all.

This is certanly the case. I have mentioned before that what I thought would be a functional method of adding additional quests for Book I turned out to not work at all. So, rather than put 2 months of effort into hacking Book I to handle this small add-on, we have spent the time making sure Book IIs engine is more flexible and can handle add-ons properly.

I appologize to everyone for leaving the lighthouse/boat/Ash Island quest hanging. The quest never actually advanced the story any; it was just a way to get another 4-5 hours of gameplay out of Book I.
See my ramblings and keep up with the latest news on Twitter & Facebook.

I have a question about the outpost where this lighthouse is. In the big room with a lever, I see two portcullises. Can these be opened?

I can answer this one, I asked a while back. Answer: no. :) Frustrating. So many things to loot..err, explore.

Thanks. I think the dev should never do this to us, creating these unopenable doors/portcullises. I wasted so much time searching the outpost over and over, to see if I missed something.

I know what you mean, I was really angry when I couldn't go beyond Darkford or explore Bastion Spire! How dare the developer make the world more believable!

Believable? Not letting me go south of Crakamir because I "would surely die" when I've wiped out all life north of the line is believable?

Regretably "this" is real life, and sometimes sh... happens, when you develop a game thinking you can do something afterwards, and ooops no can't do it... hten there is nothing to do, as in real life.... same happened at the Crypt so many coffins to loot, but they were completely unaccesible...
