Rebuilding Elderhollow
Using xolotl's Map Editor, I decided to start a "mod" of some sorts which will feature a completely rebuilt Elderhollow. All buildings will be repainted, their floors will be fixed, pathways will be cleaned, and some existing buildings will be expanded.
But monsters will still be there. I'll assume they raided the town but the buildings resisted the attack.
You can see twelve thumbnails of this project (you can click on them to enlarge them):
Added on March 29th:
Hope you like this!
I'll keep updating this as I advance with this rebuilding.

Updated with 8 new screenshots!!
Re: Rebuilding Elderhollow
But, where are da pe-oe-pole?!?!!
Seriously, this is pretty cool - one of my first ideas for a user-created scenario was to play in Thaermore "before the Fall", so this is pretty cool stuff.
I've never sat down and tried to get the map editor to work (I think it's probably a lot of work on a Mac...), so I'm kind of hoping xolotl returns one day with a more polished map-editor...

Maybe after I finish with this I'll start a similar project to "restore" Grimmhold...
I've also contacted BW to see if I can start making an "Ash Island" map.

Looks cool. Keep up the good work !
If you're looking to make "pre-war" stuff, how about Camp Thorndike ? There was a sign that insuates you would pay to go in and hunt the animals and get trophies.

Re: Rebuilding Elderhollow
Elderhollow is almost finished! Today I fixed up the path out of town and some other roads. Just have to fix up a couple more buildings, finish the Inn's second floor and I'm done!
1) I think the EULA doesn't allow you to modify the executable.
2) The special conditions are "encrypted" in the executable and it's impossible to decrypt "them".
Also, I'd have to make new graphics for the trophy, and I wouldn't know how to integrate them into the main GFX file.
The "trophy" part would be impossible to do, because I'd have to store it inside the EXE along with the other special conditions, and I can't edit the EXE because:sillek wrote:Looks cool. Keep up the good work !

Ooh... nice, KoD. I like it a lot.
I too, want to see more screenshots.
Actually, I want to plug it into my own copy of the game and wander around.
Maybe the next project should be Loneloft? Admittedly: not much in the way of extant infrastructure to work with, but... maybe somebody can do something with it?

Certainty: a character-driven, literary, turn-based mini-CRPG in which Vasek, legendary "Wandering Philosopher", seeks certainties in a cryptically insular, organic, critically layered city.

Re: Rebuilding Elderhollow
Bad news. I uninstalled Book I and didn't realize I didn't back-up the file. I'll just have to start over again...
I'll try to make this new project bigger and better. For example, I'll try to add a "wine cellar" and maybe an attic for the inn, perhaps I'll expand some buildings, etc.

Don't worry: the new project will be even better than the older one! I've decided to make it bigger to compensate you guys... Sorry...Evnissyen wrote:Aww... .

Yes. I started to design the Inn's wine cellar from scratch (I used Leurik's basement) and it actually works! (although there is not much to see, just a barrel with 8 bottles of ale ).Iane wrote:have you figured out how to add a whole new map yet
