Trying to avoid the Destroyer route. . .

I'm in Bastian Spire and have a feeling I need to place the Crux of Ages in the bottom portion of the map, but I can't seem to open the gate. Not sure how to proceed. . .

Ok, that didn't take long. Sorry for the silly question. I walked right by the pedestal and didn't see it for a while. Thanks for a great game. My daughter loved playing with me and she's 30 years younger. Great job.
