Easier than I hoped it would be. Nothin fancy, just a few buffs, potions, and hacking away.

Fantastic game. The ending was a little ... anticlimactic. By giving us a boatload of chests to loot after killing the final boss, you make us think we've got more adventuring to do

Really looking forward to Book II!

Narf the Berserker earned Destroyer.

After looting all there was in the Citadell, Narf went back out shopping, imbued the newly bought gear and generally had his way with what was left of the foes in Thaermore.

Then he went back in, and hit the Chancellor on the head. Which naturally not anyone was pleased with. Narf was predominant during most of the slaughter, but nearly got killed, as concentration lapsed for a moment due to the comic relief provided by using the incinerator fuel on the guard gang.

After all was done, Narf held up a hand to the screen for the player to see. Obviously the player had thought, Narf wouldn't notice.

"A Brewmasters Ring. Sheesh. How about a Lore Masters Ring next time ? Calling the guards by their names will surely add to the cozy atmosphere - Sigh. And while I'm at it: Next time I'll bill by the hour. That'll teach you parking me in the woods, and leaving for drinks !"

Narf is still a bit miffed, I figure.

Well, apparently that *wasn't* the right way to beat the game...now I just need to figure out the good way.

I achieved Destroyer, but I'm a little upset with myself, because I think I rushed into the citadel. There were a couple of quests I didn't complete, and I never even got down to the Lighthouse! I just got too excited by the finish, I think... Oh well, bring on Book II !

Here is my screenshot. I didn't realise I was up to the last guard so I didn't have my stats up, but I know I was on Level 14.

Got sort of lucky on my massacre. My Hide in Shadows skill was so high that I was able to be stealthed in the hall. Allowing me to beat faces in unhindered.

I did not think I was a good hero for killing the chancellor, just an efficient new ruler. I had killed grumok, gotten the crux restored.

my order of business would have been to destroy the the portals except the one from the castle into the goblin lair. I would have temporarily disabled that one.

I would announce to the high council that I was invoking martial law. what are they going to do, attack me? I just tromped the best they had.

I would have taken the kingdom's army into the heart of the goblin castle, destroyed the goblin idol, wiped out the remaining goblins, and taken my rich ass back to the castle where I would declare myself acting regent and be willing to let smarter/cooler heads do the actual government. no way I would let the goblin hordes in!!

I made it to level 17 very high str. love love love ecto plus spider plus best armor pieces!!! the guards had a 3% chance to hit!!!!

Yay! Just wanted to add my name to the ever growing list of those who've achieved destroyer ^^

This char was a buff heavy barbarian, stats below if anyone's interested. In terms of challenges, he was law abiding (never did anything an npc would consider a crime), didn't use potions, and was semi-iron-man (only saved at the beginning and end of dungeons/maps or in town). I died twice I think, but both times because I was being careless (like trying to get to Blackwater at lv2), so I think the build would be capable of an iron-man game.

I can't believe it, but I am a DESTROYER! It took forever, but I'd never heard of this status before, so I just had to try it. One thing I did find was that I kept running out of money and Mana potion, so I started taking "vacation days," recharging myself fully and then staying on for a long count (in aggregate, saving in between) so that shopkeepers would have time to acquire the potions I needed. Five "days" was just about right. I also started looking for guys who could be killed and turned into treasure bags -- both goblin hackers and rogues, and I located some really fine armor that was worth a lot. Totally worth the effort! (Sorry, don't have screen proof.)

awww, now that ive see all your screens i notice that there is a "belt" for potions in the right corner.... wouldve been handy.

well, i was really happy with the message i got, especially since i wasnt quite happy with the normal ending

so as for my character, just a level 16 or 17 mage who noticed midlife that going nuts with his cludgeoning weapons and a little bow action made his life a little easier, especially because of his mindset he ought to sleep only outside and regeneration was a real pain.. well, alchemy helped.

so just a little haste+invisbility+mace and thats all that was needed for the guards. (arr, i just received supernova in a chest before but didnt have the ring with me I needed for 20 int.... well, whatever.)
