Four keyholes in Goblin Citadel

Post by Nachtogen »

Maybe a stupid question, but when I am in the goblin citadel and I click on the obelisk, standing next to it, it does nothing...

All it says is: There are four keyholes, one on each side of the stone. The keyholes are colored red, green, blue and gold.

how do I get past this?

Do you have all four Goblin keys? Are you standing directly next to the obelisk? You you have them on your character, in his inventory?

I don't know what the problem could be.

Can you email me your saved game? Just .zip the slot and send it to info at basiliskgames.com

well, I figured out what the problem was, I had the green key twice in my inventory. When I removed it, all went fine, I completed the game and achieved Destroyer status...

thx anyways :)

I am curious, how did you get two green goblin keys? That would mean you have five goblin keys. You have 2 green, red, blue and gold! How is that possible?

well, where ever you could get the green key, there was a box I think, I opened it twice, think it was in the tower, I also have two of those strange wheels

You mean the widgets. Okay! Is that a feature BW?

sounds like he might have also cleared the maps for the save for that area. Or used one of the bugs to reload it twice.

I think that he means that he had the green key twice so he had five keys.
If you revisit the tower you can open the box with the goblin key again and get a duplicate green key. This actually allows you to cheat as I inadvertently missed the goblin lord in the fortress on the rift and had not gained the blue key but with two green keys, the red and the gold the goblin citadel opened its doors to me.

It could be that the goblin citadel just opens to four keys regardless of colour.
Anyone want to try visiting the tower four times to see if you can get four green keys.

Well BW has revealed the secret of the widget! It is a dummy item. If the game throws an error when it tries to create an item, it produces a widget rather than crashing. I think the program is only checking to see if you have four goblin keys, not the color of the keys. Because when he had five keys the game would not allow him to insert them, by dropping the extra green key, the other four keys automatically inserted. Just my guess.

I have a related question. I didn't realize early in the game that the Goblin keys were important. I figured that it was a key to something that I had lock picked through and tossed it! :(

Now I'm at the end with 3 of the 4 keys, and knowing that 1 was destroyed really ticks me off, but I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to get the key somehow without having to restart the whole thing all over again after 20+ hours?
