Frequent crashes

I'm running MacOs 10.5.8 on a 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 mac with 3 GB memory.
I got book 3 this morning, and I've had a dozen crashes today while it's been running.
Sometimes, it's a screen freeze, sometimes a straight crash.
I've always done at least one restart before opening Book 3 again.
This computer runs books one and two without problems.
Help!

Mac 10.5 is definitely not supported by BG in Book III. (I'm not even sure 10.6 is considered "supported", though it will run in 10.6...)

The odds are that with the compilers that BG is using for Book III, Mac OS 10.5 is just too darn old to be able to run the game. Sorry... :(

The good news is that all of the Core 2 Duo Macs (looks like Late 2006 iMac A1200, Late 2006 Macbook Pro 15" A1211 and Late 2006 Macbook Pro 17" A1212 are the only 2.33 GHz models) should be able to run either 10.6 or 10.7. Unfortunately, it looks like you might have to buy 10.6 and install that first if you want to be able to install 10.7.

Thanks for the helpful replies.
I've managed without a crash today- knock wood!
But I'll look to upgrade the OS version, anyway.

It will run on OS 10.6 but there are irreproducible crashes when moving so save often outside of combat.

Thanks!
Still no further crashes. I wonder if the Apple crash reporter's helped?
