Eschalon was BlitzMax, right? And now you are probably moving to Unity for this and the Sci-Fi RPG?
Yep!

As you said there isn't enough content there yet to do a visual reveal, is there a possibility of some Lore/story reveals? :)
I for one would like to hear more about Zodiac and what the Marauders are all about :) Must be a bunch no-good Space Pirates! :D

Yeah, so we haven't advanced much on ZATMOS in the past two months. Why?

Because we've been having a lot of fun working on the new sci-fi RPG.

The joys of the creative brain. It's like a cat that only wants to play with the toys you're not trying to get it to play with.

Heh, that's my problem too! I haven't touched my RPG in 2-3 months because I've been busy recreating the old LucasArts Dark Forces levels in the Disney Infinity toy box! Fun, fun!

Well, the good thing is that the Sci Fi RPG is my real goal. ZATMOS is, and has always been, just a game to fill the void between RPGs- a way to bring in extra income between our core games. It was never meant to be too "deep" of a game, and one of my ongoing development issues has been that I keep trying to expand the game beyond the original design. If I had kept to the original design scope, we'd be beta testing the game by now. Instead, it remains a tangled mess of modules and half-finished concepts. <sigh>

The good news, for all you RPG fans, is that the Sci Fi RPG has made some big advancements in the past 3 months, and the team has agreed that we want to spend our "summer crunch session" fully on the RPG, with a pre-alpha test now scheduled for August!

Doesn't that mean that ZATMOS is indefinitely suspended

I was looking forward to ZATMOS... :(

No, no. ZATMOS is too far along to just forget about it. It's just that I stepped away from the SciFi RPG for six months to work on ZATMOS, and when that project got bogged down I realized that I was itching to get back to the RPG. Fresh ideas and new-found enthusiasm, as it were. So I just started back on that until I could work out some of the design issues on ZATMOS.

But, now we're working full time on the SciFi RPG again and will be the rest of the summer. I'll eventually get back to ZATMOS for sure, but it may not be until after the SciFi RPG is finished. We'll just see where we are at the end of summer.
