I've heard it's very much like old Fallout. Should be good. I'll try it but not until it's released- I don't want to pay to be a beta tester.

GOG is selling the game now for $13.49 which is 10% off until Jan. 1st. So, I assume that it is out of Beta. Good reviews so far at GOG.

Their "About" page says release date was Dec 18. Nothing about being a beta. Sadly, Windows only and I'm a Mac user.

Sorry, I meant that I haven't figured out how to make my character move faster/run in the game.

Absolutely 'best fantastic RPG' in the style of Fallout 1-2. Superb freedom to go where ever you want except many caved in areas - rock - that can be removed by building TNT-bombs later. Various technical possibilities in killing your enemies and winning quests. Elaborate item creation system. There is humor in the game, but the writing cannot come close to that of Fallout 1-2. I'll first finish XCOM Long War Final 1.0 then finish Underrail, possibly in an even better enhanced state.

Exemplary support!! Developer is constantly updating the game and fixing any errors players are reporting.
Pros:
+ You can go fishing in ponds! I didn't caught anything, tho..
+ Fallout 1-2 gangster gang killing mayhem is back!
+ Psi abilities, awesome!!
+ Ninja abilities and stealing everything
+ Lots of awesome energy weapons from Fallout 1-2 are back!
+ You can forge enhanced items, especially if your skill is high enough
+ You can build high quality bombs!
+ You can catch cute wild animals and put them into cages. :-/ Have to find somebody willing to buy them.
+ I could edit the character at creation to set main abilities to 10 and first increase all skills (+15) always by the maximum points the game allows at level-up (+5). By level 6 the game is getting noticeably easier because of this, but at least I won't have to replay with a Chemist or Ninja or Mechanic or a Persuader character, I get to experience everything in one play-through. Big time-saver. :) I had to resort to this method, since the savegame files are encoded and cannot be edited and the cheat utility you can find on the net ruins the game totally when using that "infinite inventory items" cheat.

Cons:
- constant walking back and forth with no auto map
- lots of towns with many NPCs having not so awesome dialogue make me quite unenthusiastic to explore their areas.
- stealing everything from all NPCs and picking all locks and breaking into all private quarters and breaking all safes can be tedious sometimes, so I need a pause and play something different. :D
