Albion

Post by renkin »

Just wondering if anyone has played this. I've just tried it briefly, and I must say it looks very promising. Although I'm a bit put off by two modes of combat, I plan to play this at some point.

Any comments? Is it as good as it seems?

Older game, right? I remember buying it years ago (I have no idea what happened to the original disc anymore) and I know I didn't finish it. I remember thinking it was a bit of an odd game and it never really grabbed me.

Yep, older game. Parts of it are top-down, other parts are first person. Seems odd for sure, but compelling somehow, judging from the little I've seen of it. Oh well, I'll just give it a try sometime.

I played Albion back in the days. Being an avid Amberstar/Ambermoon fan, It was a natural buy for me, as this game is made by the same guys (it was originally meant to be the last part of aforementioned trilogy). Alas, I didn't finish it (got stuck shortly before the ending, dunno the exact details anymore, something about a stubborn energy field). However I do agree with BasiliskWrangler that it is a little odd - the scifi/fantasy mixture didn't always feel right, and the atmosphere wasn't that good. Still, a RPG worth playing.

Its certainly one of the more unique scifi games out there. I bought it som month ago. You can still buy brand new copies from i.e amazon.uk.
