I've seen mention of this game a couple of times, but it's the first time I've seen an enthusiast gaming website offer up some sort of review. I'm doing my best to resist the urge to play... 0_o

It's not entirely an RPG (Massively Single/Multiplayer Crafting Game W/ Role Playing Elements - MSMCGWRPE ), but close enough to post in this section. The developer is mostly a lonestar, not entirely unlike BW. He's had some pretty impressive success all things considering, and it just goes to show that the KISS method works (Keeping It Simple Sells). Of course, all that simple looking gameplay isn't necessarily indicative of simple programming.

Anyways, just another example of indie gaming done right.

I love this type of "game". Just played around with in for an hour. It's very fun- I hope the engine continues to evolve. More robust physics, and better simulation of fluids and materials, would really make this sandbox a fun place to play!

Bought the full version ($15). Tons of fun for 1/4 the cost of StarCraft II. Yeah, it's different game altogether but fun is fun, right?!

Heh, No problem... although I daresay that Starcraft II is shaping up to be just as much of a time-waster. I've been working on the campaign achievements and such.

That's not to say I won't snag a copy of Minecraft when I next run into some spare change... such is the life of a gamer.

Yeah, I've wasted some good work hours Minecraft. Very cool stuff.

Complete: One home "gps" locator beacon:



Cost: a few buckets of lava, a couple stacks of glass and stone, and three untimely deaths. Note to self: may require leveling of a couple of mountains to actually work well.

Here's a close-up; this is how it normally looks for me since I play with the window maximized... the normal sized window view looks all grainy (from all the aliasing going on). The thing is basically an upside-down glass pyramid filled with lava.



Next project - I'm probably going to construct a warehouse... need someplace to store all the building materials I'm collecting.

I just discovered the 3D Anaglyph mode (and happened to have a pair of red-blue glasses kicking around): headache inducing, but effin' cool!

A little developing of the land.... and I think we've got a good spot for the warehouse.

It's written in Java, so it runs on Windows, OSX, and Linux.

The free version, which is just for building (the full version runs in "Suvival Mode" where you actually have day/night cycles with enemies that spawn at night), runs right in your web browser.

The full version you can either run in-browser or download.
