Greetings all,
Game: Eschelon Book 1 (Full Version) w/ Patch 1.04
Issue: About half the time I attmpt to RESTORE a game from the QUICK SAVE (SLOT1) I get dropped to my desktop;
System Info: Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.090206-1233) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: AWARD_ System Model: AWRDACPI BIOS: )Phoenix - Award WorkstationBIOS v6.00PG Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 1.70GHz Memory: 960MB RAM Page File: 559MB used, 1748MB available Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.2180 32bit Unicode
Notes: I recently had to reinstall my OS because my HDD crashed. I reinstalled Eschelon Book I at that time. Since that reinstall I have experienced two issues that I never had before. (1) Save game slots missing - known issue - fixed by manualy recreating the appropriate "slot" folders. (2)Current issue - game drops me to desktop when I attempt to RESTORE from QUICK SAVE (SLOT1).
Any thoughts or input will be greatly appreciated.
Gregg

It sounds like a file(s) got corrupted in that slot... I've had this happen once before when re-rolling chests on a frequent basis. Have you tried deleting all of the files in the slot 1 folder, then re-quicksaving and attempting to restore? You'll lose that save, which sucks, but this method fixed the problem for me.
