unplayable saves

Whenever I try to load a save for my main char, it crashes the game and I am back at windows.

I have(had?) 6 different saves with this char spanning 2 days. 20 some hours of gameplay with the the one char. No cheats, no hacks, no extra programs running.

The other save games work and I can even start a new char just fine.

But I had a really kick ass fighter going there. I have the full game. But this does not make me want to put any time into playing anymore. Seems like such a waste of time.

And now days later the saves are all working again for no reason I can see.

I had restarted my computer a couple of times, but the saves wouldn't work. then today as I started the game up intending to play my mage instead, I just thought what the hell and clicked on the fighter saves and it worked no problem.

WTF?

Still don't know what went wrong in the first place.

Possibly a permissions problem?
