How did you learn about our game?

Post by BasiliskWrangler »

Here's yet another poll, but this one is important in helping us know how we can best increase awareness of our site and game(s). Please tell us how you heard of Basilisk Games / Eschalon.

I saw it first on RPGWatch, as I'm sure many others did too. Still, I'm pretty sure you've reached 100% penetration in that particular market. :P

I actually saw it reviewed in either MacWorld or MacLife (I don't recall which at the moment). It looked like the kind of games that I enjoy, and that proved to be correct.

As above, something like Inside Mac Games or MacWorld. The phrase that caused me to actually go and download the demo was "turn-based". I'm pretty old-fashioned when it comes to computer games!!

Damn it. :?

I added a poll option: "Found it on a game portal" and that reset the poll. I think we only had 6 votes up to that moment. If you already voted, can you please place your vote again.

Thanks!!

Fairly sure I found it from a forum - probably the official Ubuntu ones.

I found out about the game from the Blitz Research website. BW had been reporting on Eschalon as a WIP on their website and forum. So I had been tracking Eschalon for at least a year.

I saw it reviewed on GameTunnel, thought it looked appealing, and promptly forgot about it for a few weeks until I went back there looking for something on which to spend an evening. I grabbed the demo, played it for a couple hours, and then ordered the full boxed version of the game earlier this week. I probably end up buying about five or six games each year from reviews on GameTunnel, and have only regretted a few of them. Eschalon is definitely not in the "regret" column.

Yeah. MSN is the default homepage for IE, and I never bothered to change it; I suppose it's as good a homepage as any. I opened IE one day, and saw a link to Eschalon and other noteworthy downloadable games. Of course, like all other links on this page, it was temporary, and when I looked for it again later, it was gone. I had to search for it.
