If no one has mentioned it yet...there are a set of manuals out now which are set up as a prequel to the AD&D 4th addition "rules" and "regs" books. These are designed for new players (and experienced players alike) who want to ease right into game play without being overwhelmed.
I haven't yet, but I guess I'd try "Wizards of the Coast" if you are curious about them, and no...I am in no way, shape, form or manner connected to them.
