Well, I beat it...

Post by azraelck »

Only took a mere 18 hours, doing every quest I could fine. The only complaints I truly have is the shortness of it, and the fact that it was somewhat too easy. My first run was with a mage, slightly less than optimal.

I over-did it in preparing for the last level; going town to town, spending upwards of 3k gold on potions and alchemical supplies. Then, I only used a half dozen demon oils what spells I could case, and maybe 2 mana potions and a half dozen heal. :P Oh well.

I'm looking forward to Book 2, I have to say. This has been refreshing playing such a game as like I grew up with. This put me in mind of Ultima 6 and The Summoning almost immediately,

Next game is a Monk, as usual. A Fighter focusing in on unarmed combat. Unfortunately, While I started it, I accidentally clicked 'Load Game" when I meant to save, and it won't let me back out of it even with hitting ESCAPE. Looks like I need to reroll.

*EDIT*

Note to self: Make sure to change UOSU's default alternate key to something other than ESCAPE.

Well, looking at your screen, you didn't finish one of the quests. :D

Technically. I got lucky and opened the tomb of some ranger down in Tangletree Ossuary. Just guessed the number. At any rate, much later I wandered around and finally found the oasis, and did that quest, and got the quest to go open the tomb and grab that bow; which I had long ago sold. I didn't see a point in going all the way back just to clear that one footnote out of my journal.

Something else indeed ... very obvious if you are a completionist... totally lost otherwise.

LOL you mean the eggs... I saw the thing they went with, but never found the third. Didn't know it was a quest though.

Well the three eggs aren't a quest persay... but a common thing to go about getting done, though you do have to search.

Really it could be any number of things for one you don't seem to have the Divine Ore Great Sword, but you might have sold that, then there's the Flask of Incinerator fuel but that's a one time use item that usually gets used... once.

Then there's also the fact that your Magick User is a "Conjuror." Guess he wasn't much of a rampaging man... eh?

Sold everything save what I had picked up in the Citadel, actually. Including the Incinerator Fuel, Divine Ore greatsword, the longbow previously mentioned... if you didn't notice, I'm still wearing the shirt I started with, though I bumped it up to +3.

I kept the save right before talking to the Chancellor. However, work is keeping me from doing anything else. 11 days straight at 12 hours a day isn't fun, especially since it's cooler sitting on concrete in the blazing sun than it is inside where I actually work.

While waiting on a ride, I did the Destroyer part with Nikademus.

Just add a level, 3 to Arcane: Elemental, and 1 PER/2 INT to my last pic, and you have what cleared the spire of living things.

I hope Book 2 has a scythe included. If so, I fully intend to have a character use one through the entire game.
