Very Excited for this game.

Post by DemonWizard »

Hi, new here. Just like to say i used to play Ultima Online a lot but that game is history.. anyways i was searchin a while back and found this game witch reminded me of Ultima but i needed something new and different, with some same ideas from Ultima and other Rpg games and I found it Eschalon Book 1. I have to say this game looks very promissing and fun unlike the crap 3d rpg games today.

So with that said i have a few Questions about this game.

1. How long of a game can we expect this to be? how many hours?
2. When you Equip Stuff like a Cloak/Cape will it show on your char?
3. Can you make your char look how you want? i.e hair color ect.?
4. Can you buy this game in a store or only online?
5. Single and Multyplayer or just Single Player?
6. dunno if i can ask this but is there a markin rune system like in Ultima to recall to places faster?
7. Is there any sort of transportation in the game like horses , boats, air ships?
8.When can we expect the Demo ??? ;o

Answer what you can thanks.

and if possible could someone explain to me what Origin and Ajciom are with the classes in the screenshot?

Thanks Grue!

1. If you know where to go and what to do, the game can be finished in 20 hours. Most "first timers" take about 30 hours. To do all side quests and explore everything, probably 40 hours.
2. Yes, most items show on your on-screen character.
3. No
6. Sort of. Quick travel and portals are utilized.
7. No, not in Book 1.

BW will have to give you the definitive answer, but judging from the screenshot, they both seem add a little "extra color" to your character. Origin seems to be your character's cultural background and Axiom (not ajciom) is his way of life, his belief system. Looking at the explanation of the Nefarious Axiom, I believe both the Origin and Axiom provide you with some concrete in-game effects, which can be beneficial or detrimental (or little of both, as it may be). Origin might give you attribute modifiers and basic skills, while Axiom seems to give you a paired advantage-disadvantage combo.
