I am wondering how the Lore Skill is supposed to work?

I'm pretty sure it works like this: Every item has an Identity level and the combination of your Lore plus your Intelligence/5 has to equal or exceed that level to identify the item. I may be off on the exact formula (I seem to recall the changes with Int being every 5 points but I could be wrong), but that's the general idea. I know that there's nothing a level 6 Lore spell can't identify. I'm not sure how much Lore per level the spell gives for identifying a particular item, though.
