I don't know if there are any gifting mechanics. I guess you could just go over to them and buy the game on their computers.

With Book II, since they just need the activation code, you should be able to buy it and send the code and the download link. With Book I, you may need to use their email address for the registration so BW can send them the download link directly. You could probably do that for both for simplicity.
