Is my encumbrance broken or is having almost 12 pounds of encumbrance when having nothing at all equipped or in your inventory except gold correct?
I couldn't find anyone with this issue which seems odd, but that's a weird system if so and I didn't notice the problem until recently...

How about torches? How many torches do you have? Those have weight, and unfortunately in Book I, the only way to get rid of them is to use them or stick them in sconces.

Oh, torches. That must have been it, thanks. Finished the game already (it took awhile to get this approved), but good to know for Book II if it does the same thing.

Actually, in Book II torches are treated differently than they are in Book I. You can drop as many you wish whenever you want to.

The same thing happened to me just last week. I was trying to drop as much gear as possible into barrels so I could move that big ceramic pot from Bordertown to Blackwater. I got rid of everything, even rings, and still had some encumbrance left over.
At first I thought it was my gold, but then I realized it might be the torches.
How much do torches weigh, anyway? Anybody know?

Do rings and amulets and other things like that even weight anything? I'm not really sure.Arkos wrote:The same thing happened to me just last week. Rings and things don't weigh much starting at 0.1 pounds but they do add up.
I had the same problem the first time I did that quest.
