mouse (cursor) hardly moves

Hi, my Mac meets all the system reqs. I downloaded and would like to take the demo for a spin. I can hardly function at all because my cursor won't move unless I am holding down left-click. Not only that, when I hold down left-click to go where I want to it ends up selecting wherever I last was! Any ideas? The game is unplayable like this. Thanks,

Got it! I had a wireless installed at the same time as my regular mouse. Once I unplugged the wireless it started working just fine.
