Install Bug?

I installed the purchased version without removing the demo 1st. (D'oh!!) Keys kept disappearing from my inventory. You can't open those pesky locked doors without the keys you nab! I discovered the 1.04 patch and installed it, to no avail. I uninstalled both thinking a clean installation might solve my minor problem. But, my download time ran out! Argh! I don't see the key thing as a bug anywhere, so I'm figuring it was just a funky install on my end. *sigh* Waiting for the email reply to get another install link.
