News Update: November 11, 2006

Post by BasiliskWrangler »

November 11, 2006

After a significant amount of prodding by our visitors, we've posted 3 new screenshots of Eschalon: Book I. For this round of screenshots, we've focused on the game's updated interface.

The state of the game continues to be: looking good and coming along nicely! We've still got a bit of content to create, lots of play balancing to be done, and polish to be applied. At this point it's unlikely that we'll make a 2006 release, but we're getting so much closer! For more information on the game and small updates that don't always get posted here on the News page, please check out the forums.

Looking real good, I'm digging the way this is progressing. One question though: does greek fire do damage over time or area of effect damage?

Yep. It produces a scattering of fire which lasts 20 rounds. Anything in the fire (creature, door, chest) receives damage each round.

Looks good! Aesthetically pleasing, appears to be intuitive and effective, should be great.
There are worlds out there where the sky is burning. And the sea's asleep and the rivers dream … People made of smoke and cities made of song … Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice, somewhere else the tea's getting cold!

everywhere I go, I either give out this website URL on a piece of scrap paper to likeminded CRPG fans, or post the link to this website on gaming forums. I really love what I'm seeing here, and in my heart of hearts, believe that games like this are the future of the PC RPG genre.

Because, lord knows, we aren't getting games like Pool of Radiance and Fallout anymore.
