Max level
There is no hard cap on leveling up. I am usually about level 17 or so at the end of the game.

End game character?
I'm not sure what you mean by this. You can play a pretty virtuous type character if you wish, but you will still be doing in lots of bad guys along the way.

Weight and magic
You have to increase your strength to be able to wear heavy armour . Obviously if you are putting points into strength you are neglecting the intelligence required for casting magic. The balance you strike is your choice.

Please let us know if this answers your questions.

I think you're asking for an example of an end-game character. If so, check out the ones in this thread:

viewtopic.php?t=707

Maybe start at the end since many of the early images are broken now, and people didn't start posting their character info until later.

You can use Divination spells or potions to increase strength and other stats temporarily for just combat.

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=967 gives you a look at the spell way which can help you also to carry more weight back to town.

Ogre Strength potion for the alchemy way.

There's no way to move points once you've placed them. 5 in both of those skills is perfectly reasonable, though.
