Apparently I only imagined that there are bucklers made of higher armor rated wood than birch? I could have sworn I had seen at least Oak bucklers before or am I confusing that from Book III?
On an unrelated note I am to lazy to take a screenshot and cut and resize myself so does anyone know if there is a way to access the book I potraits for books 2&3? I am thinking after I finish book 2 with my extremely poor starting roll character I would like to play with the same character in all three books using the character editor to have the same start in each game so I would like to have the same portrait.

Re: Wooden Buckler question
Yes, I believe that you can find Bucklers in various wood types, up to Mahogany, which would be a total of 5 AR.

In Book I, the graphics are all inside a file called gfx.pak, which is not a standard archive format. However, there is a utility in the eschalon_utils editor suite (https://github.com/apocalyptech/eschalo ... r/unpak.py) that will decompress it for you. Once you've done that, the files 0.png through 6.png contain the Book I portraits.

Thanks for the response. I have been reluctant to use the utilities for fear of the temptation to use them for ill
