I'm not using any anti-Virus software. I'll try the run-it-from-the-dmg trick and see it that works for me.

MacBook Pro 17", 2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM, OS 10.4.11, NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 256MB

I have the problem too. I launch the game, the options window comes up with colors and window mode and right after I click start it crashes. Would love to try this game!
