Exactly. Cartography skill is weak up to level 5 or 6, then the detail actually becomes somewhat useful. 17 to max it out sems WAY too high.

1. Variety in baddies, could we perhaps have a couple more different ones, perhaps with a smoother difficulty scale.

I have seen this a lot.

There MUST be a bug in there somewhere.

I'm consistently beaten down by creatures that should hit at most 1 in 4, or even 1 in 50. Even creatures that have equal to-hit hit 2 or 3 times to my 1.

with 2% to hit, the chances of scoring 5-6 successive hits are insanely low ...

I'd like to see spell eficiency incresed with power level, not just 1:1 damage increase.

Take fleshboil or flame arrow that does 1-4/power rank

The random encounters were extremely annoying and the game seemed geared towards getting certain devices and having a gadgeteer and bard to use them. The enemies unlimited magic and unlimited numbers was a serious problem after a while and made some of the late stages extremely difficult.

Is there a comprehensive list of how attributes and skill levels work?

I have 16 ranks of sword and 23 str, dex and speed and still have piss-poor accuracy against most creatures (best is about 64-66 vs fanged salamanders)

2 keys with no use?

I found 2 keys (thin and brassy) in the dungeon of the mithril bar quest and can find no use for them, did I miss something?
