Re: Eschalon Trilogy Post-Mortem
It sounds dubious as to whether or not there'll be a Basilisk Games in the next six months. Which is a shame, honestly - quite liked what's been done so far, archaic engine or not. Honestly, I'd not be surprised to see a lot of indie casualties over the next couple of years - it's an oversaturated m...

Inconsistent Steam requirements.
The Windows version of Book 1 requires Steam to be running while playing. However, the Linux version does not.
At some point down the road, when the brouha over Book 3 has subsided a bit, could this inconsistency be fixed please?

Re: ESCHALON TRILOGY - Q&A (SPOILERS)
Trying to put together possible reasons as to why you may not be the (original) patsy, but Malkur and/or Erubor are (or were). Or that everyone was being manipulated by your "brother" (until he was found out somehow), and you're just some random schmuk caught up in the middle... or even pe...

Hmmm. I had thought it was meant to be like that, but then none of the other signs lay over the UI like that, do they?mbrowne wrote:Is the sign in Elderoak Forest supposed to be oriented this way? I'm thinking it should be landscape and not portrait. It's at 33, 101.

Re: Book III Character and Map Editor
Incidentally, does it matter if I run the game through steam? I have no idea where the character files or map files are stored. I haven't installed the Steam version (or any Windows version, for that matter), so I don't know if it's compatible or not. I had to make some modifications to the Book II...

Linux. Has anyone else been having the following error when running the Book 2 map editor? "Graphics could not be initialized: global name 'newfilename' is not defined" I'm not sure where this is coming from, but I have an idea. I just committed a fix on github. Could you try again? The f...

Re: Strong feeling of "half of the game cut before release"
I do get rather a "cut content" (or perhaps "running out of time/money") vibe, especially towards the end of the game. That said, some of what you say could possibly be bugs more than anything else.

I think it does at least 800 points of damage. If you do survive, the game just carries on to the Erubor/Malkur choice cutscene.

Re: Barrel Trolls and Unreachable Locations (minor spoilers)
cool! how did you get to the second level? I looked around in the beginning level but didn't find a way. If I remember correctly, once you complete the scorpion and roach quests the second level is unlocked and you can decend further into the mine. Interesting, because they didn't unlock for me eit...
