You know the drill. :wink:
#1. Artifacts should be purposeful. Mercantile feels like a wasteful skill because of how valuable artifacts are. A non-axe user will simply sell that 5,000 gold axe and have plenty of gold. If you could give it to someone in exchange for a special benefit, it would open ...

Re: Being a solo gamer in a multiplayer world
I've never played it, but supposedly a lot of World of Warcraft is based on single player content, because Blizzard found out that a significant amount of players did stuff alone or with just 1-2 friends. I think that's good, but having to pay every month really pushes me away from MMOs.

Re: Obama's comittment to global nuclear disarmament
McCain, although trying to separate himself from Bush, is still a Republican. His cabinet members and the other Republican cronies in Washington will naturally follow the same entrenched policies that Bush established. We cannot accept that! We cannot endure another 4 years of warmongering and ...

Re: Obama or McCain?
What a lot of delusional cornucopians refuse to recognize is that the Ameircan West will have drained all of its fossil water before any nuclear waste could ever seep into the water table. We'll have desalination, powered by nuclear of course, well before the waste could cause any harm. I fail to ...

Re: Book II design question
Assigning certain value ranges to loot would be the best solution. I think only a very small minority would reload from getting good loot that doesn't fit their class; after all, it can be sold for a decent amount or adapted into one's playstyle. I think most reloading is when a chest yields 2 gold ...

Re: Wish List for Book II {Compiled}
I know this is really late, but I think it would be cool getting resistances and altered stats from consuming the flesh of certain monsters, like in roguelikes.

My computer has no lag at all but I think it's just the default speed feeling a little slow in areas already cleared.

Re: My critical analysis of the skills
The thing is, by the time one can actually acquire items that require lore to identify, the lore spell is nearly always accessible. The sole exception I can think of is getting the mithril long sword before reaching Blackwater for the trainers. But once the trainers are found, the lore spell is far ...

My critical analysis of the skills
Alchemy is insane. I didn't even have a full adamantium set, but 15 alchemy let me give +3's to all my armor and reduce the enemy hit chance to 3%, from every enemy. Only magic could touch me, and I had all of my potions reserved for that, since nothing else was a threat, at all. The funny thing is ...
