I saw that in one of my games.
I played one game where I plinked the drones no problem.
Then in my next game, i walked out of lilith's house and it was like "Bees The Revenge!".
I thought it had something do with the sequence of how I did the events since in the first game I cleared all the maps ...

Re: Rangers - What's the Best Approach?
As it turns out... Rangers only get 8 mana for 40 perception.
Gotta figure mages get a +2 bonus per level.

Re: Rangers - What's the Best Approach?
Survival reads like the hitpoint version of Mediation -- improves regen but a high enough endurance SHOULD cap the regen anyway so I don't bother with it.
I say 'should' because I tested the character creation points but did not take a character high enough to verify everything at the higher levels ...

Re: Rangers - What's the Best Approach?
I have a feeling that hitpoint regen works the same as mana regen--since a lot of the 'math' works the same, i.e. the max possible hitpoint and mana at level 1 is 76.

I gave up on it... did a Ranger with 1 mage spell.
If the developers are listening... Item suggestion for Book II.
Amulet of the Hunter
---Predator Sight
And it wouldn't hurt if it had a +3 To Hit also

Okay... so that explains why I noticed fireball was a better single target spell.BasiliskWrangler wrote: You're right, elsol. The damage was reduced late in development and the description was not changed.
It should say 4-6 points per level. It is now updated.
Thank you.

Re: COMPLETE SPELL LIST (Possible Spoilers)
Are the spell damages right for these?
I saw under 30 points of damage for compress where the min should be 36 (I only ever cast it at level 6.)

Re: A Simple Guide to a Pure Mage *Spoiler Warning*
Hide In Shadows is a good idea.
I found that Invisibility is better though... because it works out in the open too. After I got up there in mana, the first thing i did in a fight was 'go invisible'. You don't need to cast it at level 6 either -- level 2 is long enough to blow your mana -- level 3 ...

My review:
Pros:
1. The character building freedom was extremely enjoyable.
2. The 'working' quests were a fantastic touch... i like how they work to gently guide one along.
3. There were some truly ingenious bits -- i.e. The Amulet 'gotcha' for killing Lilith and emptying the vault; one of my ...

I finished a pure mage with the 'There Can Only Be One' Challenge. It turns out that if you have enough mana -- the higher level spells ROCK... Even without fortify potions (I did not have alchemy so I couldn't make them.)

Done as the 'There Can Only Be One' Challenge -- A rings & amulet only, Pure Mage.
Check out the 91 Perception & 423 Mana --- Found out that when you can sling 10 of them, fireball is well worth it, even over compress atmosphere.

To add some numbers to yours.
1. I rolled until I got a 14 & 14 int/perception combo.
2. I put all points into perception.
3. I took the +2 perception race.
That gave me 76 mana to start the game. (> 8 int gives 1 mana per point, > 8 perception gives 2 mana per point at startup).

Changing classes Bug (Might have been reported already)
Don't know if it has been reported--I'm on a mac.
I was playing around with the classes.
Step 1. Have 20 Skill Points
a. Take Magic-User
b. Take Added Weapons-Bow.
Now have 17 Skill points.
Step 2. Switch to Ranger
Have 2 Points in Weapons Bow with 16 Skill points.
Step 3. Switch to Magic ...
