I gave this delayed gratification a shot and here are my results:
I went up 4 levels at once (Level 12 - 16)
HP went from 65 to 84 (gain of 19)
Mana went from 96 to 117 (gain of 21)
Before the delayed thing, my mana was increasing at 5 per level. So I only seem to have improved it by an extra 1 ...

Inventory Management
Will Book II have a better Inventory Management system? For example, being able to auto-stack identical items would really help to reduce the clutter...

I realise that making a game as quality as Eschalon is no mean feat. Like you say, there are a great many number of things to take into consideration. So starting small (very small) is definitely how I need to go about things ...

What programming language is Eschalon written in?
I would love to be able to write a game like Eschalon. My friends and I have ideas for cRPG's falling out of our ears all the time. To put some of them into practice would be very awesome.

There were also the Megatraveller games back in the early nineties. They were lots of fun and very rich in detail.
